Gartner is looking for a passionate and driven product leader to lead the portfolio of products targeting High-Tech Providers.  This strategic leader will, with his or her team, determine the product vision, drive innovation, and manage a portfolio of products to deliver double digit growth and profitability enhancements.  This leader will have regular interaction with members of Gartner’s Operating Committee and CEO and will work collaboratively with other functional leaders within the Research Business.  Solving hard problems leading to big impact while working with a talented and cross functional team will be a consistent part of the role.

Role purpose:

Develop and rollout new products and services for High Tech clients and manage existing product portfolios. Make strategic product decisions related to High-Tech Providers. This includes responsibilities in product strategy, pricing, product development, technology innovation, driving the product strategy aligned with findings from customer and market research, partnering with Global Product Management (GPM) Operations & Strategy team to ensure sales training and enablement, product marketing and portfolio management are aligned to the product strategy in place

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the product strategic leader for High-Tech Providers (HT), determine product vision, leading and facilitating the creation of products that deliver value to both customers and the business.

  • Identify and execute product development opportunities which will enhance portfolio profitability and drive double digit annual contract value growth

  • Accelerate growth in product portfolio contract value by programmatically and scalably enabling the sales force to effectively sell solutions in the HT portfolio by working together with other teams in GPM and Global Sales Strategy and Operations

  • Identify problems and solve them before they affect performance.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and expense management processes.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop team members and manage cross-BU stakeholders to achieve performance objectives

  • Fosters long-term learning and development with focus on ensuring the right people are aligned to the right roles and doing the right things.

  • Responsible for determining team standards and metrics based on overall HT and Global Product Management (GPM) priorities and objectives.

  • Provides inspirational leadership by determining vision for the team.

What You Will Need:

  • BA in Business, Technology or in a relevant discipline.  Postgraduate degree holder. Advanced degree is highly preferred.

  • Recognized expert within Product Management discipline and experience leading product teams or strategy – and ideally 15+ years’ experience in field

  • Strategic leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage programs, products or optimize existing business models.

  • In-depth understanding of the needs, opportunities, and challenges facing clients, specifically related to digital, user/costumer experience and social networking.

  • Ability to synthesize complex ideas into simple, concise value statements and core messages.

  • Must be able to work in dynamic environment with challenging deadlines and demonstrate outstanding project management skills.

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurship and agile leadership, as well as strong problem-solving skills.

  • Displays strategic leadership skills across the Operating Committee level; ability to craft and articulate a clear, consistent vision and implement effective operations plans.
