We’re seeking a senior analyst to join Gartner’s growing M&A practice. Analysts analyze, write and present thought-leading research and deliver cogent written and oral advice to premier commercial, governmental and educational institutions. Their research and advice will help cross-functional senior executives to strategize, execute and integrate their M&A transactions using best practices and information and technology.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write and represent research (e.g., documents, tools and templates, presentations, videos) and advice as an authority in relation to critical aspects of M&A.

  • Guide Gartner’s clients in regard to integrating people, process and technology in M&A.

  • Oversee projects such as special reports and the development of common tools and templates that Executives and CIOs need when leading a M&A.

  • Assist the sales team with client retention and acquisition through compelling briefings and discussions.

  • Travel to and present at Gartner events through engaging client workshops and presentations as well as assisting in conference content creation.

  • Conduct client inquiries, during which client pose questions that are answered by Gartner experts or where we help reframe the question or challenge.

  • Work as part of a “cohort” of M&A experts, helping to create a compelling research agenda, crafting research collaboratively and providing peer review on others’ work

  • Working with a creative team, develop compelling graphics and frameworks that are embedded in research artifacts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree, MBA preferred, in a relevant subject

  • Minimum of 12 years of advisory, consulting or execution experience leading multiple cross-functional teams in strategy, planning and execution in M&A with a particular focus on the IT aspects

  • Possess core expertise and experience in planning and executing IT Due Diligence and Integration

  • Experience at the intersection of business and technology strategy. Experience working directly with executives in global and/or midmarket organizations

  • Strong command of business strategy concepts; ability to compellingly apply thinking across industries.

  • Articulate and succinct communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with public speaking experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to piece together fragments of information, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns, and drawing and framing conclusions in real-time, with clients and during meetings.
