Director, Research Talent Lab


About this role 

Talent Lab is Gartner’s signature program targeted at high potential early-to mid-career talent that has had tremendous success globally and we’re expanding to Irving, TX !  This program is designed for rapid skill acquisition and career growth, wherein associates will gain on-the-job experience, education and exposure to Gartner best practices and research methodologies. We’re seeking an entrepreneurial Director, Team Manager to spearhead the expansion of the Research Talent Lab to Irving, TX & lead a team of 6-8 qualitative researchers. This initiative is a strategic priority for Gartner and offers high visibility with senior most leadership.

What you’ll do 

  • Lead a team of 6-8 qualitative researchers with direct line responsibility for talent development, stakeholder management, and long-term growth of the program.

  • Partner closely with dotted-line stakeholders across service and content team leaders to ensure alignment and consistency across work portfolio.

  • Manage execution, drive high performance culture and quality of all output.

  • Rapidly advance the researcher competencies and capabilities so that they are on-track to transition into aligned content teams within 18-24 months.

  • Ensure that the Talent Lab follows Gartner processes, adheres to research & advisory methodology guidelines, and adopts changes as they are introduced.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; Masters preferred

  • Direct experience leading or contributing to new hire or learning and development programs

  • 3 plus years’ experience directly managing individual contributors or proven track record in coaching and mentoring

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High intercultural awareness
