About this role:
As part of Gartner’s Marketing and Communication practice, you will help equip Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) with what is needed to grow and map their path to mastery of marketing strategy and operations.
What you’ll do:
Create research in multiple formats (i.e.: writing, video, infographics) on best practices in marketing strategy and branding, organization and operations
Deliver high quality actionable advice and represent thought leadership to marketing leaders through video-based presentations and discussions with clients
Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within these specified areas as well as applicable adjacent areas
Lead webinars and present at Gartner live and virtual events on mission critical marketing topics for the CMO
What you’ll need:
The candidate must have significant experience gained from working for 10+ years leading marketing teams, designing marketing strategy, organizing and operationalizing teams for growth and productivity, overseeing demand generation and content creation effort to achieve commercial outcome. Candidates with experience as a CMO or working closely with a CMO preferred. Experience in a B2B organization is a plus. This role requires subject matter expertise in:
Developing marketing strategy to support business strategy and growth, with an eye towards cost-optimization, innovation and measurement
Building agile, adaptable, high-performance marketing organizations made up of stellar marketing talent
Effective, measurable approaches to marketing innovation in a ever-changing environment
Working collaboratively with sales to drive commercial outcomes as well as product development.
Understanding of how marketing works with other organizational functions (e.g., IT, sales)
Beyond subject matter expertise, the right person for this role is willing to challenge conventional norms and views by creating unique, compelling research that will change the way marketing leaders solve problems and build the strategic marketing organization for tomorrow.
Additional proven skills include:
Strong business and financial acumen as well as analytical skills
Articulate and succinct communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with public speaking experience.
Demonstrated ability to piece together fragments of information, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns, and drawing and framing conclusions in real-time, with clients and during meetings.
Impeccable time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Bachelor's or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred
Ability to conduct occasional travel, regionally and globally
