Role Purpose
The Learning Program Manager/LMS Administrator is an integral part of Gartner’s HR Learning Enablement team. The Program Manager/LMS Administrator works in collaboration with Leadership Development teams, HR Business Partners and business stakeholders across the organization to support and consult on learning engagements. Primary responsibilities include, serving as the principal administrator for Gartner’s LMS, overseeing licensed content integrations, manage self-directed learning programs and training content administrators embedded in business functions. This role requires a high degree of independent problem solving, stakeholder management, excellent communication skills and a client-first approach.

Role Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary LMS Administrator and leads efforts to optimize and increase the adoption of the Gartner learning management system
  • Supports business functions in implementing scalable learning strategies through best-practice use of the LMS, learning assets and social learning communities
  • Coordinates self-directed learning programs by building curriculum and social community discussion boards from curated content in the LMS and monitors usage and adoption through reporting
  • Evaluates and recommends content providers for licensed learning assets, oversees licensed content integrations and monitors the usage through reporting and analytics
  • Acts as the LMS/Cornerstone subject matter expert, providing best practice insight into all LMS functionality including: creating events, sessions, curricula, evaluations, email notifications, custom reports, standard reports and uploading content (e-learning modules, materials, videos)
  • Provides LMS system support for users, managers and the 100+ trained LMS administrators embedded in business functions
  • Looks to continuously improve both the user and administrator experience on the LMS by overseeing quarterly system and configuration upgrades
  • Runs LMS training sessions and monitors security permissions for new and tenured learning administrators embedded in business functions
  • Communicates all system and configuration changes through scheduled quarterly meetings with LMS administrators and learning leaders
  • Maintains the relationship with CSOD’s Client Success Partner through monthly meetings and is responsible for ticketing issues through the CSOD Global Technical Support portal
  • Provides governance over the policies, procedures and standards of the LMS

Role Requirements 

  • 3+ years of LMS Administration experience on the Cornerstone OnDemand Learning & Connect portals - Workday LMS experience a plus
  • Ability to take on the role of “LMS expert” and facilitate virtual meetings with LMS administrators and learning leaders
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solution LMS user and administrator issues quickly, efficiently and with a smile (client-first)
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively with diverse populations
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly skilled in the use of learning technology with the ability to quickly learn new applications, software and tools
  • Experience with courseware development tools a plus (Articulate, Camtasia, iSpring)


  • Bachelor Degree in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Education, Education Technology or related field and minimum of three years relevant, practical experience
  • Cornerstone OnDemand Learning Administration Certification a plus
