About this role:

Conferences is the fastest growing segment of Gartner’s business, and our mission is to make every conference we produce the single most important annual gathering for the roles we target and the communities we create… in every major geography. We are looking for an execution-minded strategic thinker who can lead a portfolio of global projects aimed at helping drive consistent, scalable 20%+ revenue and contribution margin growth from Gartner’s industry-leading portfolio of conferences and events.

What you’ll do:

The Director partners with product management & marketing, technology, exhibitor sales & service, and operations teams to design, develop, implement, iterate, and scale programs to help the conferences business:

  • Accelerate digital transformation

  • Build new revenue streams and product offerings

  • Enhance data-driven, omni-channel customer experience

  • Grow & retain exhibitor revenue

  • Innovate on products & services

  • Scale processes through technology and establishment of centers of excellence

This is a highly visible role that combines analytics and strategy with execution in a way that will enable the successful candidate to have a measurable impact on the business. The candidate must be able to quickly gain credibility and influence stakeholders, executive leadership, and conference production & sales teams around the globe.

What you’ll need:

  • A passion for customers combined with a strong commercial mindset

  • A track record of successful quantitative and qualitative problem-solving and experience implementing solutions

  • Outstanding ability to analyze data and present compelling change recommendations through written and verbal communications

  • Ability to develop and organize initiatives with strong organizational skills and project management

  • Comfort working with ambiguity, resolving conflict, and influencing stakeholders in a complex, matrixed organization

  • 5-7 years of relevant business experience – ideally including designing and implementing product, service, or sales programs in a management consulting or project-centric corporate role

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred. Preference for majors and/or substantial coursework in an analytically-intensive field
