Role Purpose

Perform in-country finance & accounting activities. Prepare and support the monthly and year end closing process for Gartner Subsidiary which consists of account bookings and reconciliations. Assist Finance Manager to develop and manage compliance and controls within local and corporate requirements. 

Major Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

  • Perform all accounting activities (GL, Assets, etc.) and ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare all monthly journal entries including support
  • Perform monthly reconciliations as assigned
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/ year-end closing as directed
  • Prepare monthly and annual VAT and statutory returns  
  • Prepare all accounting documents for Statutory Audits and Tax Declarations
  • Assist with establishing internal controls and monitoring compliance
  • Complete all monthly/quarterly/annual reporting to Australia/NZ  Bureau of Statistics   
  • Ongoing review and document of accounting processes 
  • Investigate anomalies identified to determine root causes and offer solutions to improve process and ensuring compliance with processes and internal controls
  • Drive and support continuous improvement by supporting management initiatives and developing & documenting new processes
  • Execute and/or support special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

Corporate Controllers Team members globally, Tax, Treasury, HR,  Facilities, Internal and external Auditors, Regional Business Leaders


Bachelor’s in Accounting – Finance

Professional Experience

  • 3/5 years proven accounting experience of a global multi-national organization
  • Strong understanding of Local Accounting Standards e.g. Australian GAAP, good understanding of US GAAP, etc., and knowledge of Local Tax Rules
  • Good hands-on reporting-systems knowledge. Oracle Financials and Hyperion experience would be considered as a plus
  • Good working knowledge of intermediate to Advanced Excel

Technical/ Professional Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to manage , prioritize and organise workload of shifting priorities and requirements
  • Strong ability to collect information from many varied sources and ensure its accuracy 
  • Ability to work in team with various accounting, finance and treasury personnel
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong initiative and willingness to take on projects in a proactive manner
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Effective listening skills
