This position provides project delivery leadershipand executive oversight support for a large and complex portfolio ofclients. AccountPenetration and Growth
Identify opportunities for growth and long term,sustainable strategic partnerships with clients consistent with Gartner Consultingservices (e.g., administrative and academic technologies, on-line learning, ITstrategy, PMO development, data center strategy and roadmap, disruptive technologies)
Assist in Consulting sales and business developmentefforts in assigned portfolio, including demand generation and management,scope of work (SOW) discussions, proposal development, and final SOW andcontracting process.
Ensure client satisfaction and delivery success
Lead client engagement delivery for complex projects
Provide oversight and coaching of team members to ensure engagementdelivery remains within specified scope, schedule, budget, and margin.
Takethe necessary steps to mitigate engagement delivery risks, including leadingand participating in internal quality assurance reviews.
Manage engagements at or above gross margin target
Influencing, Coaching and Mentoring
Proactively seek outways to collaborate with others from all parts of Gartner to identify new andrelevant market opportunities and develop strategies.
Mentor other associatesin industry-relevant issues and trends, as well as organizational, business,behavioral, and technical skills
Eightplus years of management consulting experience, including significant work ineducation markets, with preferred focus in engaging directly with executives inthe higher education market
Deepunderstanding of higher education and academic medical center operations
Broadunderstanding of the U.S. education market and key constituents
Broadunderstanding of the regulatory environment and compliance requirements
Abilityto describe complex business and academic issues and implications oninformation technology directions to a variety of audiences, especiallyexecutives
Abilityto quickly understand and analyze client current state, understand clientbusiness directions and priorities, and synthesize this analysis to help setclient strategies within the context of information technology enablers (e.g.,people, process, technology)
Broadexposure to strategy and operations improvement in a number of administrativeand academic areas of higher education organizations
Heldsimilar project management / delivery position for a minimum of 4 years
Understandsthe business and economics of consulting, including financial managementrequirements
Canindependently develop and identify opportunities and lead large and complex pursuits,with support from other thought leaders and subject matter experts
Experience in one ormore of the following areas:
Administrativeand/or academic systems for medium to large-sized higher education institutionsand academic medical centers
ITorganization and service delivery transformation programs to support broad andstrategic organizational goals and objectives
ITservice delivery and management (e.g., customer service, IT process, ITfinancial management, telecommunications, unified communications andcollaboration)
BusinessIntelligence and learning analytics
Hybridlearning, on-line learning, adaptive learning
