Business Development Executive– Gartner Business Services, Sales, EMEA

What you’ll do as a Business Development Manager:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join the top performing Sales Practice in Gartner Business Services (GBS).  You will be responsible for hunting net new opportunities and strategically selling our Research and Advisory solutions across EMEA region targeting targeting Heads of Sales, CCO's and Commercial Directors within the world’s most visionary enterprise businesses and successful organizations of tomorrow.

What you’ll do as a Business Development Manager:

Ever heard of the Challenger Sale? As the Business Development Manager, you will build new business activity using the challenger methodology (we will train you on this in our exclusive Gartner Academy). You’ll uncover new logo business and navigate the sales process through complex business environments selling to the C-level in a designated territory. Prospects of the large enterprise sales team have $1B+ in annual revenue. Your role will also include:

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities with new-to-Gartner organisations, targeting Heads of Sales, CCO's and Commercial Directors
  • Quota of circa $500K in new contract value across your territory in your first year
  • Converting  prospects into Gartner clients, owning the full sales cycle and negotiation through to the transition of new clients to the account management team
  • Leading complex sales, of large deal sizes, across matrix and complex business environments.
  • Continually building relationships at the C-Level to uncover prospects’ mission critical priorities and presenting Gartner solutions to deliver against sales metrics and KPIs
  • Collaborating with internal resource teams to produce proof of concept and subject matter expertise to prospects
  • Owning forecasting and account planning on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis

What you’ll need to be successful:

We’re a traits-based organization that seeks diverse talent to best meet our clients’ needs. We look for sales professionals with strong executive presence, intrinsic drive, natural curiosity and coachability. The experience level we look for is as follows:

  • 4 – 8 years of consultative, B2B sales experience
  • Experience prospecting to the C-Suite and senior-level leadership of enterprise businesses
  • Experience handling multiple commercial processes, new business forecasting, and identifying challenges to a positive commercial outcome across large enterprise and matrix organisations
  • Quick learning attributes that enable you to pivot and work through ambiguity 
  • Ability to demonstrate strong sales process and strategies
  • Track record of overachievement on goals or quotas
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or advanced degree is a plus
