What we’re looking for:

As a member of the central Analytics team, you will have the opportunity to leverage your data and analysis skills to help drive the growth of Gartner Digital Markets (GDM). You will develop a deep understanding of key areas of the business and will partner with internal stakeholders including the Marketing, Product Management, and Sales to identify opportunities to improve the GDM software marketplace for software buyers and sellers. You will help guide both business strategy and process improvement by delivering insightful and actionable analysis to stakeholders. You will leverage your technical and data visualization skills to build analytics workflows and deliver timely and impactful data to reporting customers. And as a member of the central Analytics team, you will have access to cutting edge tools, techniques, and training to help support your professional development.

  • Use analytics to support Gartner Digital Market’s mission to be the leading resource for software buyers and sellers.

  • Design, develop, and manage analytics projects, including ad hoc analysis as well as  recurring reports and dashboards for internal customers across GDM. 

  • Ensure internal customers have the necessary data and reporting to make business decisions. 

  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources to support analytics goals.

  • Quantify the impact of major business initiatives and communicate findings to key stakeholders.

  • Provide data-driven recommendations and guidance to stakeholders to drive business strategy.

  • Support the planning and forecasting process as needed to accurately predict the performance of key metrics.

  • Identify data requirements for reporting and analysis and work with operations and data engineering teams to collect required data and replicate data to central reporting systems. 

  • Help monitor and improve the quality of reporting data and work with operations to investigate and resolve data quality issues. 

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Degree (preferably from a top-tier university) in business, economics, statistics, mathematics or another quantitative field preferred.

  • Experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science or similar role using data analysis tools and techniques.

  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization systems (Tableau, Power BI).

  • Proficient with SQL or similar database scripting languages.

  • Experience working with cloud-based or traditional relational database management systems.

  • Experience working with web analytics tools a plus (Google Analytics, Omniture).

  • Proficient with the Google suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and Microsoft suite of business applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).

  • Comfortable working independently to achieve successful results with minimal guidance

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to clearly present complicated analysis 

  • Resourceful and resilient with the ability to take a creative approach to problem solving
