About this role:

The Business Development Manager is a consultative full-cycle sales role responsible for providing strategic partnership with C-level and senior executives, focusing purely on establishing new business relationships with non-client organizations. The territory for this role includes specific mid-market client accounts.

What you'll do:

  • Consult with C-level executives to identify and initiate the development of an effective, enterprise-wide strategy that maximizes the value delivered by Gartner's products and services
  • Manage forecast accuracy on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
  • Maintain competitive knowledge in your area of expertise, whether that be in the realms of technology, finance, marketing, or a number of other verticals in which Gartner provides valuable insights and information

What you ll need:

  • 2 - 7 years of experience in a professional sales setting, preferably with evidence of prior success in consultative selling to the C-suite
  • Bachelors degree, with strong evidence of academic success
  • Proven demonstration of intellect, drive, executive presence, and business acumen
  • Ability to develop and conduct effective presentations via telephone and web conferencing with contract decision makers (C-suite)
  • Knowledge of the full life cycle of the sales process from prospecting to close
  • Knowledge of how to manage a geographic territory to meet quota objectives
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Excellent written and oral/presentation skills
