We are looking for a Sr. Editor with an eye for detail and expert knowledge of the English language to coordinate, review and edit content, as well as manage all steps in the publication process. A successful candidate understands what kind of writing is appropriate for business executives and strives to provide exceptional, informative and engaging content to clients.
Editors perform a variety of editorial duties, including Edit research reports, conference presentations and time-sensitive documents. Assist in training analysts in publishing process requirements and editorial style, and negotiate with analysts to produce published research of the highest standards.
In this role, you will:
Edit assigned research each day.
Make changes to edited materials directly into system.
Discuss any issues with author/s as they arise.
Take initiative to check and confirm statements, statistics and other material in written research submitted to Editing, as necessary.
Take particular responsibility for document quality, timeliness and sensitive negotiations with analysts.
Help shape the development of policies, standards and procedures within the Editing group and in relation to analysts.
Help establish and implement quality controls throughout the workflow process.
Work cross-functionally with all other teams/departments to improve workflow, procedures and application systems.
Take responsibility for mentoring junior Editors as necessary in day-to-day work
Undertake continuous, job-related training to maintain editorial quality levels and improve individual skills.
Understand and meet the needs of analysts, to ensure document quality and timeliness.
Bring all documents to the same high standard.
Ensure timeliness of document delivery and publication.
Adhere to quality standards and guidelines.
Receive satisfaction/quality rating of "good" or "excellent" from a majority of the analysts you work with (measured via internal customer survey
College degree, or equivalent, with excellent English language skills in both editing and writing.
Six to eight years’ editorial experience—preferably in the field of business, information technology, and supply chain—in busy environment with stict deadlines.
Editorial experience in school or in business working for news publications (print or digital), wire services, technical journals, or vendors (editing technical documentation).
Tact, tenacity, and sound intuition when dealing with subject matter experts and all colleagues.
Some knowledge in technologies related to supply chain, business and information/communication technologies, supported by an understanding of business and supply chain terminology.
Ability to manage projects, and juggles a diverse workload, with a positive attitude.
Quick to understand new concepts and share learning with others on your team.
