About Gartner Digital Markets:
Gartner Digital Markets is a business unit within Gartner. Our mission is to help small businesses make the right technology choices and find the tools they need to grow, optimize, and become more effective at what they do. The business is comprised of three top brands—Capterra, Software Advice, and GetApp. For candidates interested in taking their next career step in the technology space, Gartner Digital Markets offers the fast pace and excitement of working for a startup, the stability and resources of a large, established organization, and the opportunity to be on the front lines of innovation in an industry that is always growing and transforming.
What we are looking for:
Gartner Digital Markets’ brand GetApp (www.getapp.com) is looking for a talented Junior UX Designer to join the GetApp product team. Our ideal candidate is an innovative designer who is data-driven, yet empathetic. You’ll use your own expertise, along with data and insights from users and broader market analysis, to turn the design direction for our organisation into actual products and experiences.
This is a hands-on role focused on contributing to the processes of product discovery, design and development. You must have an understanding of and experience with information architecture and user flows. You will work with seasoned UX designers, and collaborate with product managers, data analysts and developers to create quality, device agnostic user experiences and interfaces.
Why you will want to come to the office everyday:
Your main responsibility will be to execute all visual design stages from conception to final hand-off to Frontend Engineering, maintaining our style and consistency.
Plan and execute research, from heatmaps to user testing, to inform your design decisions.
Understand and use analytics data to report insights and improve user experience metrics.
Create a variety of deliverables: from user journeys and personas to flows, wireframes, mockups and test-ready prototypes.
Track, measure and understand impact, to iterate on current experiences and envision opportunities for new ones.
What you will bring to the team:
1+ years experience as a UX/UI designer or similar role. You must be able to showcase and speak to your portfolio, and how your work qualifies you for this role.
Deep understanding of the design process – especially related to digital products – and the ability to work at all levels of the UX process.
Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
Experience working with tools like Google Analytics and Hotjar to understand user behavior.
Experience with user testing and interviews is a plus.
Experience working closely with developers through writing UX/UI development handoffs. Familiarity with agile sprint planning.
Experience with wireframing and prototyping software: Figma, Sketch, etc.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of design systems, their growth and maintenance.
