New role to the Finance organization. This leader will improve and manage

Federal acquisition strategy to acquire new contract vehicles at the Federal and agency level, support Sales (Global Technology Sales/Global Business Sales) associates through acquisition processes, and lead standardization of processes for acquisition navigation for Federal deals.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for strategic direction of Federal contract vehicle acquisition efforts for Sales

  • Implement leading practices to identify, develop, acquire, and manage Federal contract vehicles

  • Lead the build/development of an internal capability, establishing a team and processes that will scale with future growth

  • Lead efforts to standardize and streamline the way Sales associates navigate agency level procurement and acquisition processes

  • Maintain and build relationships with the contracting community and key contracting officials

  • Create program to help educate Federal Acquisition officials on how to do business with Gartner

  • Work with Sales to identify acquisition organizations to deliver “training” on how to do business with Gartner


Impact:

  • New agency level contract vehicle acquisition

  • Increase in pipeline velocity and win rate for Federal contracts

  • Standardization in contract / acquisition navigation for Sales


Relationships:

  • Responsible for coordination with contracts organization within Federal

  • Will maintain relationships with trade groups and industry orgs for former contracting officers

  • Will maintain relationships with key Federal acquisition executives

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders across Sales, Legal, Pricing, Proposals COE

  • May assist with acquisition related questions for state and local contracts



Education/Professional Experience:

  • College degree required; MA preferred

  • Certifications in acquisition / contracting preferred

  • 15+ years of experience, 10+ years in Federal acquisition 

  • 5+ years managing a team

  • Former work as a contracting officer and former private sector experience are required. 

  • Knowledge of the FAR and DFARs

  • Knowledge of GSA supply schedules and processes

  • Knowledge of Federal acquisition trends, mandates, and regulations

  • Knowledge of the federal acquisition processes to include various procurement types such as FFP, T&M, etc.
