Meet Ben Weston
Name: Ben Weston
Job Title: Events Manager
Office Location: Sydney
What originally attracted you to Gartner? Gartner attracted me because of the opportunity to work for a global leader within an industry I am passionate about, that directly influences the direction of technology across the world.
What is your favorite part about working for Gartner? Every single day is different and provides new learning opportunities and experiences, combined with the daily exposure to so many highly skilled colleagues across many different business units, the opportunity to develop is never ending.
What advice do you have for prospective Gartner candidates? Skills can be coached, what are the inherent traits you possess that set you apart from the competition and will enable your success in one of the world’s fastest growing organizations within arguably the most fast paced industry? Think about what has shaped you as a person and got you this far on your life journey, both on a personal and professional level.
What are 3 words that best describe Gartner? Collaboration, Ambitious, and Driven
What has been your proudest moment at Gartner? Achieving back to back Winners Circle’s (top performers trip) in my first 3 years at Gartner. Over achievement is expected here and Winners Circle has become a rite of passage. Seeing my team over achieve their Winners circle targets, reaching my own, and then spending 5 days treated like royalty and celebrating with my team in exotic locations across the globe has been an experience I never want to miss!
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why? Sir Alex Ferguson (ex Manchester United Manager and arguably the most successful football manager of all time) – a hero of mine for as long as I can remember, I would love to pick his brains on creating the optimum ‘team balance’ and getting the best out of each and every team member.
What are 3 words that best describe you? Ambitious, Driven, and Positive
What is one thing unique about you that people would be surprised if they knew? I have recently taken up Hot Yoga and now practice 3-5 times a week…
What’s your favorite quote or personal mantra? "The Best Is Yet To Come"
